When I made the decision to join the Susan G Komen, Philadelphia 3 Day, it was only for my mom, to keep my promise, that we would always fight, for when she was better we would take the journey together, but that year, my mother Kathleen Emerich passed away on September 27th at the young age of 58. I chose to continue my promise, and In October 2015 I became a solo walker, stepping into opening ceremonies with no one to walk beside me, I carried her in my heart each step of the way! Shortly I began to see, I was not alone, beside me were other men and women; who too have been caused so much pain by this horrific disease; strangers, who stopped to listen, to cry with me, to offer a hug, to encourage me to keep going, to keep fighting. I have gained lifelong friends from this journey, the 3Day walk is not just to raise money for the cure, or to remember the ones we have lost, it's also to support one another, to continue to fight, to show you are never alone. It's more than you can ever imagine, encouraging you to let go, to laugh and to cry, to embrace the journey, and to remind us of the strength and perseverance of our loved ones, never giving up. I'm still here; to continue the fight, for HER and for a world without breast cancer, so that my daughter grows up in a world where PINK is just a color!
Please support me again, as I take on an incredible challenge
60 Miles in just 3 Days, to END the battle against breast cancer
“We walk because we must;
We are strong because the Journey demands it.
Together in body and united in spirit,
We lay down these footsteps for this generation and the next.
This is our promise; a world without breast cancer!”
Thank You for your Support!
