In September 2018 I will once again be walking 60 miles over three days in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. This will mark my seventh year walking and raising money to eradicate breast cancer.
I decided to participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day in 2012 to honor my mother who passed away from a reoccurrence of her cancer in September 2011 one month before her 57th birthday. Following my Mom's initial recovery from breast cancer in 2009 she mentored countless people suffering from cancer by offering comfort and advice. Cancer is a horrible disease and as you travel the path of recovery there is tremendous uncertainty, fear, pain and self-esteem issues. My mom through her experience helped others wondering how they will cope. My mother was an amazing person and I am honored to be able to honor her legacy by walking in the 3 day and raising money to find a cure for breast cancer.
During these last years she has missed many wonderful events which include her youngest son’s wedding and witnessing the births of two beautiful granddaughters and a grandson. Please consider donating towards my walk to help ensure that no other family has to miss these special moments with their mothers.
Over the past six years I have raised over $22,000 to help find a cure for this terrible disease. I walk 60 miles so my wife, daughter, friends and those I don’t even know don’t have to fear this disease. I walk so every grandchild can be spoiled by their grandmothers. I walk today so others will not have to walk tomorrow. I walk because everyone deserves a lifetime. I will walk until pink is just a color. I will walk until ribbons are just something my daughter wears in her hair.
Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! Your donation, no matter what size, helps us to take one more step towards the eradication of breast cancer. Information on how to support me in this cause is below.
