I know I have told many of you, my friends and supporters, that I though 2017 would be my last “walk” but instead the 2017 Walk Re-energized in me why I walk and why I need to keep walking. I walked Philadelphia with some amazing survivors who never give up. Who keep fighting and walking year after year to make a difference in the fight against cancer. They unknowingly made me look deeper into my self, and I am not ready to give up. I will continue this fight.
On the 3Day events, I get to see and hear first hand the difference that Komen is making in screening, treatment and research. I am not ready to give up.
What I am ready to do is....Be Bold. Be Fearless. Be More Than Pink
I was diagnosed in September 2007 after my very first mammogram. Consequently completing a year of treatments, , chemotherapy, radiation and herceptin. Some days it feels like yesterday and some days a lifetime ago.
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. Eighty percent of the net proceeds raised by the 3-Day® help support Komen’s Research and Training.
