I never gave much thought in my younger days about cancer and the world wide effect it has on the general population. Alothough i worked in healthcare it wasn't until it effected me directly when I got involved. In spring of 2001 I was 23 years old when my mother died after fighting breast cancer for a lengthy period of time. What I still believe was a misdiagnosis early on, her life although may not have ended the same but quality and better treatment may have. As I saw the world from a different prespective I started to take in the dramatic effect this has on families world wide. So why I walk.... So that your loved one not only gets early recognition, they get the support needed along the way. All with the hope one day there is a cure not only for Breast Cancer, but all cancers.
