In 2008 I took on a bold goal-to walk the 3 Day to help my friend and co-worker Michelle who at 28 had just been diagnosed with Stage 3 IDC Breast Cancer. I had seen the ads, I had seen the walkers and kept saying "Some day I shoould do that". 2008 became my "Some Day". I have been involved ever since -registering each year. I have had to miss 3 years for various reasons but I have registered, donated and fundraised all those years. This is my 10th year. In 2012 we lost Michelle at the age of 32. As a community we have lost so many others. Bridgett, Amy, my SPP Tammy. My grandmother is now 91 and a survivor and thriver. She as well as all our fighters, thrivers and angels are my heros. I walk and crew and fundraise for them. I have seen the advancements help so many including my team captain Sharon. However we still have a LONG way to go. Metestatic breast cancer is taking the lives of too many. With a renewed focus on Mets, I will continue to walk, to crew, and to fundraise until we have a cure. Until breast cancer stops taking the men and women we love from us.Because everyone DESERVES a lifetime.
