Dear Family and Friends,
On Friday, September 28th, I will begin my 11th Susan G. Komen Walk in Philadelphia! The walk is 60 miles over the course of three days. My Team, No More Goodbyes, is a group of amazing, supportive, committed friends who share one loving goal: to end breast cancer forever.
My very first walk was in 2008 to support my friend, Sharon, who was fighting a relentless battle against breast cancer. Sharon's daughter was a student in my very first classroom of First Grade students in Norwell. This class - these students - were *my* kids, before I had children of my own. Sharon, as a devoted mother in this class, taught me so much about parenting, supporting children, and choosing to spend time on what truly matters most in life.
Sharon lost her courageous battle on April 14, 2008. She was 41-years-young and an inspiration to every life she touched, including my own. I continue to walk in memory of Sharon's life, grace and unyielding spirit. I walk for her devoted husband and their three beautiful children. And, I walk for every person who has battled or is currently battling this insidious disease. I will lovingly hold everyone in my hope-filled heart, every step of the way, all 60 miles.
In Sharon's words, "It is because of research and clinical trials conducted at Dana-Farber, and centers throughout the world, that we have hope. As targeted medicines continue to be developed, we can turn cancer from a feared and deadly disease, into a chronic condition and, one day, a cured disease." With your help, a cure will be realized!

I walk determined, with one goal in my mind and heart: to be the CHANGE that finds the CURE. Thank you for your generosity!
My love and gratitude,
