So at the end of the 2017 3-Day, I was unofficially retired from the 3-Day as a walker.
A few months after the walk, my mom's best friend (they have been through thick and thin together), announced she was now facing a third battle with cancer. She had beaten breast cancer twice before and now it had come back ready to fight. Well so was she and she is bravely battling through chemo and soon radiation to hopefully cancer to the curb again.
I knew I couldn't walk away now. So here I am ready to start training to walk another 60 miles in her honor. I will also walk for so many others as well. I will walk to honor the memory of Pat Colpetzer and Joanne Primus-Woolf, two ladies who fought so hard. I will walk to honor all my friends who are survivors!
Please support me as I take on an incredible challenge to make an impact in the fight to end breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to end of breast cancer. In 2016, Komen announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. That’s why I’m walking, and raising money—to make that goal a reality. So who is ready to help me get to the starting line?
