Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. In 2016, Komen announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026.
Our daughter, Stacey, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016. The diagnosis very quickly changed to metastatic breast cancer, as it had spread to her brain. She had surgery to remove one of the brain lesions, and has had several gamma knife treatments for remaining lesions. She continues receiving regular chemotherapy, as there is no cure for metastatic breast cancer at this time. Stacey is living a happy, full and active life today as a direct result of clinical trial treatment made available through funding provided by Susan G. Komen.
I’m walking the Seattle and Dallas 3-Day Walks for Stacey and thousands of others living with metastatic breast cancer—to raise the money funding research to find a cure. Please help us reach the ultimate goal - the cure for breast cancer!
