Please support me as I take on an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the 3-Day® help support Komen’s Research and Training Grant Program and large public health outreach programs for women and men facing breast cancer. The remaining 25 percent helps fund local community and Affiliate support and outreach programs.
I drank the PINK koolaid years ago and will now embark on my 10th Susan G Komen 3Day 60 mile Breast Cancer Walk this August in Michigan!!
Seattle's walk in 2013 I was honored to speak at opening ceremonies and carried the MY MOTHER flag during opening and closing ceremonies...3 yrs to the day we had Mom's funeral mass. Looking forward to this year, back where my journey started….in Michigan August 4-6 …with Mom in my corner....cheering from the heavens!! Honored to be walking again with 3Day seester Bobbi Havrilla, Susan Forty, Nephew Nate Zack And 1st time walker Kathy Byrne...1 YEAR survivor and KoKoNut Lori Davis..another 1st time walker. So excited for their journey's!!!
Every 74 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone dies from breast cancer. That's a pretty startling statistic. No one should have to face this disease, so to create a future without breast cancer, which is why I will walk again.
I walk because everyone deserves a lifetime. I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't believe 100% that it was worth every muscle ache, blister, shin splints, road rash, weary nights and endless training walks! I walk because I want a world without breast cancer. I walk because I don't want any of the women I love to suffer. I walk because I don't want any of the men I love to lose their partners and end up alone. I walk because it is my way of changing the world...one step at a time.
I WALK - BECAUSE I CAN what more can I say.....
