The 2017 October Atlanta Susan G. Koman 3 Day will soon be upon us and I have a sense of renewal and hope as I fundraise and train. Each day reminds me why I do what I do. I will focus while walking the 3 Day on the wonderful friends I have lost and the strength they showed during their battles. I will also walk to honor those who are survivors, each and every day showing their strength and making each day count. So many friends have supported me throughout the years, I am asking for one more walk.
This year I am dedicating my training and walk to my dear friend Marla and her sister, Mary Grace, known to me as Pidge. Pidge embodied what it meant to be diagnosed with breast cancer. Although the disease may have won the final battle, Pidge won the war on a daily basis.
After taking a year off, I received an email from SGK asking that I consider walking in 2017, and quickly I knew how important it is for me to raise funds and awareness of breast cancer in both women and men. So I look to you, my friends, for your financial and moral support. 2017 is the year that I commit fully to my passion, doing whatever I can to help find and fund a cure.
