Life is full of challenges. We all know this. Sometimes they are happy , sometimes they are hard. All are born out of need to do something. I have been trying to do something for the last 8 years--that's forget that I am one in eight-- I am your one in eight. I didn't ask for it, didn't go looking for it like I went looking for love or the Easter Bunny. I want to forget that I ever heard of breast cancer let alone had breast cancer; but I can't because it's still out there. Women and men are still being diagnosed and they are still fighting to survive. I'm not a doctor and I don't work at a research lab. But I am one person with 2 mostly good feet, who has vowed to never give up.
Many of you donated to my walk last year, and I thank you. As you may recall, I was not able to participate in the 3 Day , but your donations are still active. I'm not asking for donations this year, but I would never turn one down! I am asking that you join me on one of life's most rewarding events . You can stay at Poag House...I hear they have a great retreat. Can't make it to Altanta? Join in your city. I will support you from afar!
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the 3-Day® help support Komen’s Research and Training Grant Program and large public health outreach programs for women and men facing breast cancer. The remaining 25 percent helps fund local community and Affiliate support and outreach programs.
