2016: My First Year As A Walker
This year will be my first as a 3 Day walker; I have crewed for the medical team before, and while I found that experience to be wonderful, this time I wanted to participate as a walker. My other half, Thumper, has walked and crewed many times and is excited for me to have this experience.
In 3 days, I will walk 60 miles, but before I can do that I need to raise $2300. The money raised for this walk will be used--immediately, not just after I'm done walking--to fund not only research, but health care, mammograms, education, community outreach, and direct support of women and men who are fighting for their lives.
A cure is out there, and this is part of raising the money to find it.
This also helps to keep food on the table and a roof over the heads of people in treatment, who would otherwise not be able to manage funding the basic expenses of living.
Over the course of training, I will walk about 600 miles. And then bewteen November 18-20, I will walk another 60. I know this will be hard--I've seen the pain up close as I treated walkers when I was medical crew, and I know the toll it take on my wife every time she walks--but this is something I can do.
Please support me with a donation. It's tax deductable, and it will may a positive impact in the life of someone living with breast cancer.
