Every minute, somewhere in the world, someone dies from breast cancer. That's a pretty startling statistic! So to create a future without breast cancer, I will walk in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day again.
In October of 2020, in the midst of the Covid pandemic, I went in for my annual mammogram. It was crushing news to hear that I had stage 1 breast cancer that involved my lymph nodes. No one should be diagnosed with this terrible disease. But thanks to science and incredibly brilliant doctors and health care workers I was able to get treatment. After two lumpectomies, 30 rounds of radiation, aromatase inhibitors and great support I had a clear mammogram. When I joined team Hands Up for Hooters I didn't imagine I would get this diagnosis. So now this is personal! This year I will walk with a new determination and resolve to find a cure .
Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
Thank you!
