I am a walking warrior. Since 1997, the year my mother, Charlotte passed away from breast cancer, I've been raising awareness about breast cancer, and fundraising fhr this important cause.
I've walked the 5K in Fashion Island, then started walking 39.3 miles in Santa Barbara; walked 60 miles in San Diego for two years, am still supporting by walking 20 miles.
Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s hard, (especially as I am getting much older) but it is not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
One of the many things I value, is that the money raised goes to the underserved communities where health care equity is a real issue. So people who cannot afford to get mammograms, don't have transportation to go get their mammograms get support through this Susan G Komen walk.I've talked to countless women, and families who have survived because of this organization.
