Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever. I am walking for those who can’t and those who have battled cancer. I am walking in memory of dear friends, Joanne, who fought breast cancer for 9 years despite her 2 year prognosis because she embodied the most effervescent, positive, warrior spirit a woman can embody. We miss her and love her! She was a local Komen ambassador and loved the pink bubble despite what it meant for her.
And for Cathy, who was a silent and strong warrior not wanting to be in the “pink” club but going through it all tough as nails and today healthy, strong, and beautiful! For these two strong women, and so many others… for all of the cherished memories together with these beautiful women over the 20 years we were friends… every step and every dollar raised is in their memory or honor, and for the hope Jo always had and shared that one day no other person will have to suffer because we will have a cure!!
