It was back on a cold day in late December 2011 my mom found a lump in her breast and went in and had a mammogram done. A week later, the doctors office called back and confirmed and diagnosed that my mother had breast cancer. That day when I was told that my mother had breast cancer, I was in shock and was just hoping that it will not beat my mother since she lost her mother to breast cancer before I was born. A week later, my mother went in to have the breast removed. After they removed that, she faced numerous treatments for about 6 months. My mother has overcome and defeated out breast cancer from her life and currently faces the side effects from the treatments.
