Thanks for all your generous donations! I have surpassed my goal of $2300 for the 2013 walk. If you'd like to donate, please do so on my 2014 page. Yep....year 9 before I even finish year 8!
My journey began in 2006 as I tried to find a way to celebrate my Nana Irma and help others find a cure for this dreadful disease. Although I lost her when I was 15, there isn’t a day that goes by without her by my side. Her spirit will always be with me!
Yes, I'm doing it again - I signed up for the 2013 San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day! I had such an incredible experience doing the 3-Day the past seven years that I'm going back for more. This event isn't easy, but I promise you, I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't believe 110% that it was worth every muscle ache, weary night and training walk!
The 3-Day 60 mile journey has given me a place to reflect, to cry, to meet new friends, and to help find a cure for breast cancer. I started this walk knowing NO ONE, now I have my 3-Day family which continues to grow every year.
I will continue to walk as long as I can in memory of those who have lost their battle and in hopes of finding a cure.
I am privileged & humbled to walk in celebration and respectful memory of these courageous women who have lost their battle with this disease...
Nana Irma Daus, Auntie Josie Dillard, Helen Schurig, Marsi White, Marta Guzman, Kathleen Powell, Barbara Lipton, Sandy Preuss, Phyliss Dror, Sharon Smith, Bridget Spence, Yvonne Brakstad Bailey, Marian Brakstad, Mary Glynn, Jax Arcaris, Kathy Dells
I am honored to walk in support and in grateful celebration of these courageous survivors who are still in the fight...
Margo Armstrong, Ruth Averett, Michelle Bernard, Nina Bradner, Kim Butler, Hope Campbell, Fiona Grandi, Bridget Halpin, Darleen Herriman, Mary Killpack, Kris Kononen, Joanne Kyros, Lynnette Miller, Jennifer Mimiaga Costa, Karen Perkins, Pat Powell, Christa Starr, Dottie Starr, Marie Stein, Sue Taetzsch, Carrie Vieceli, Grandmama Lou
I walk to find a cure, I walk because I can.
I need your help. I am planning on surpassing the $2300 that you - my friends and family - gave so generously last time around to help fight breast cancer. I know the economy is tough; I know there are other obligations you have, but I hope you will find it in your heart to support me in another 3-Day 60 mile journey.
Every donation helps. Every penny is one more penny toward finding a cure and giving hope to one more person diagnosed with breast cancer.
I will not stop participating in this event until the words "You have breast cancer" have been permanently erased from our vocabulary!
If you have any questions or want to hear more about what I'm doing, I love talking about the event. Thanks for all of your support. I'm incredibly lucky to have people like you in my life!
Thank you for your generosity, love and support!
PS - If you would like me to walk in honor or in memory of someone, please send me their name(s) and I will add them.
