Donated 10 inches to Locks of Love!
|
When I was asked to walk the Susan G. Komen 60 mile 3 day walk, my immediate answer was "YES!!" I have wanted to participate in this walk for a few years now. Words cannot totally explain the feelings of why I have chosen to walk; but my family has been directly affected by cancer and so have many other family members and friends. This is one simple thing I can do to positivity affect the lives of others.
This past year I donated 10 inches of my hair to Locks of Love. Hair is over-rated; I learned that from when my mom lost hers to cancer. I haven't missed my hair at all, for I know some kid somewhere has hair that they have dreamed about. To me it's the simple things to change others' lives.
I am one person, one 18 year old-barely-an-adult child. There may not be much I can do to change the world at my age. Yet by participating in the Susan G. Komen walk, I am able to directly affect the lives of so many other people that need to find a cure. I have walked down the path that cancer can bring to a family and seen how it can turn lives upside down. So for me I know that I can do this. That I can walk 60 miles, rain or shine, and raise the funds to change the world of just a few people. Please support me on this 60 mile path!
Thank You for the Help!
