2011 Viva Las Boobies
|
Thanks to all of you who donated to my 2012 3Day journey. I have met my goal!
If you'd like to donate to me, please visit my 2013 3Day page (http://www.the3day.org/goto/soberle2013).
Looking forward to another amazing 60 mile walk.
Love to all, Stephanie
My journey began in 2006 as I tried to find a way to remember my Nana Irma and help others find a cure for this dreadful disease. Although I lost her when I was 15, there isn't a day that goes by without her by my side. Her spirit will always be with me!
Yes, I'm doing it again - I signed up for the 2012 San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day! I had such an incredible experience doing the 3-Day the past six years that I'm going back for more. This event isn't easy, but I promise you, I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't believe 110% that it was worth every muscle ache, weary night and training walk!
The 3-Day 60 mile journey has given me a place to reflect, to cry, to meet new friends, and to help find a cure for breast cancer. I started this walk knowing NO ONE, now I have my 3-Day family who continue to grow.
I will continue to walk as long as I can in memory of those who have lost their battle and in hopes of finding a cure.
I am privileged & humbled to walk in celebration and respectful memory of these courageous women who have lost their battle with this disease...

Every advancement in breast cancer research, treatment, education and prevention in the last 25 years has been touched by a Komen for the Cure grant. They are working hard to build a future without breast cancer. The least I can do to help is walk. In 2011 thanks to the generosity of people like you, our team raised over $37,000 and the combined total of the San Diego walkers was over $9.2 million. Seventy-five percent of those Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure funds go to national research focused on decreasing breast cancer incidence and mortality in the next decade. The remaining twenty-five percent of the funds support the Komen Affiliate network and community-based breast health programs.
I walk to find a cure, I walk because I can.
I need your help. I am planning on surpassing the $2300 that you - my friends and family - gave so generously last time around to help fight breast cancer. I know the economy is tough; I know there are other obligations you have, but I hope you will find it in your heart to support me in another 3-Day 60 mile journey.
Every donation helps. Every penny is one more penny toward finding a cure and giving hope to one more person diagnosed with breast cancer.
I will not stop participating in this event until the words "You have breast cancer" have been permanently erased from our vocabulary!
If you have any questions or want to hear more about what I'm doing, I love talking about the event. Thanks for all of your support. I'm incredibly lucky to have people like you in my life!
Thank you for your generosity, love and support! Stephanie
