This is my 2nd year walking for the Susan G. Komen Michigan 3-Day for the cure. I joined my daughter Erin Weiner, who has been involved with the 3-Day since 2007. I have a hard time trying to describe what the experience is like on the walk because I always get so choked up. All I can really say is it is a life changing experience.

August 2012 was 11 years since Judy, my best friend and wife, was diagnosed with breast cancer. It felt like our world was crashing down all around us. Judy immediately started chemotherapy and radiation therapy. She continued the treatment until March of the following year.. She has checked out clear of cancer every year since then. Thankfully her cancer was detected at in early stage from an annual mammogram. I feel very blessed to still have Judy as my life partner and best friend.

   I walk in honor of Judy, my wife (my kids mom) for her 11 years as a survivor!

   I walk in honor of others who are fighters and survivors of breast cancer!

   I walk in memory for those who lost their battle against breast cancer!

   I walk and raise money for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day because the proceeds go to breast cancer research, and treatments!

   I walk and raise money because the proceeds go to  local community based breast cancer health programs such as mammograms to those who could not afford it, and eduction programs to teach women awareness and self breast examinations!
