Crossing the finish line as a first time walker. 2010.
|
My personal relationship with Pink started back in 2005 when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Once she beat it, I thought that was the end of focusing on it...until June 4, 2010 when I found out that I carry the BRCA1 mutation. It was a challenging road coming to terms with what that meant, what that implies for my life, and the fact that it will demand my attention for the rest of my life. I don't like it, but it's the hand I've been dealt.
Through my relationship with Pink, I've heard many stories and have met many people who were dealt worse hands than me. We've come so far in the world of breast cancer, but there is still so much that isn't known and still so many people who are suffering at the hand of 'Pink.'
With all of the above, I can't NOT walk and fundraise. Will you please help me reach my mandatory goal of $2,300 so I can cross that finish line again, and so we can, together, help advance research to someday make Pink just pink again?
Thank you!!
