Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure
|
Yes, I'm doing it again - I signed up for the 2012 Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure! I have had such an incredible experience doing the 3-Day for the Cure for the past two years that I'm going back for more. I'm so excited about this event.
This event isn't easy, but I promise you, I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't believe 100% that it was worth every muscle ache, weary night and training walk!
I need your help. I am planning on surpassing the $2300 that you - my friends and family - gave so generously last time around to help end breast cancer.
As some of you may know, my mother-in-law, Diane Rogers was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2005. It was a horrible time for our family. She went through countless treatments and was a true fighter. We are so grateful today that we can call her a survivor.
Let me also tell you about my friend Lisa Milburn. She is a wife, mother and friend who is currently in treatment. Her family is now experiencing what ours and so many others have had to endure.
I am walking for all mothers, sisters and friends . I am walking for our daughters. I am walking because its what I can do to help find a cure so families like Lisa's, and families like yours and mine never have to lose anyone to this devastating disease.
Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of death among women worldwide. Breast cancer knows no boundaries - be it age, gender, socio-economic status or geogpraphic location. One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
One person is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes in the United States. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.

If you have any questions or want to hear more about what I'm doing, I love talking about the event. Thanks for all of your support. I'm incredibly lucky to have people like you in my life!
Love, Alison Rogers
P.S. Don't wait - donate today!
