Susan G. Komen 3-Day
|
Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day TM is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds from the 3-Day are invested in breast cancer research and community programs.
I first started this journey in 2008 when my co-worker Michelle Wilsey Berry was diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Sarcoma at the age of 28. I have registered each year since then. On Sunday January 15th, 2012 Michelle was taken from us way to early. She did not "Lose" her battle. We are the ones that lost something that day. We lost a friend, a sister, a daughter, a wife. We lost an angel, a fighter. No she did not lose, we did. Michelle simply ran out of time.
I will continue to walk each year in her honor. This year, instead of "In Support Of" Michelle, I walk "In Memory Of" Michelle.
Please donate and help us find a cure so there can be no more Michelle's. Please also take up the cause and write to your insurance, your Congressman and beg them to start performing mamograms at 20 instead of 40. It may have saved Michelle's life.
Thank you!
