When I started this journey in 2008 I did not know anyone with breast cancer, but I was up for the challenge. Raising money for research, education and treatment was worthy of my time and efforts, so I was all in. I found the experience of the journey to walk 60 miles was life changing. Little did I know meeting such amazing men and women would prepare me for my mother's breast cancer diagnosis in 2010. 

As I raise money over the next several months, I will hear stories and meet many that have been touched by cancer.  The numbers are staggering and the stories are heart wrenching. BUT...I have found that with sadness comes courage, hope and faith.

Hope is found and shared when I tell others that my mom is a 2x cancer survivor.  I have watched my dear friend Heather fight and win against breast cancer 2x to find courage again and again. Faith that my dear friend Linda did not die in vain.  Cancer has showed me that through this battle people discover a new sense of self and I am honored to have witnessed it.

So here I am again!  Ready for the commitment.  What an amazing journey it will be!  This commitment is not an easy one, but it is worth every minute. With your help and support, this will be my 5th year raising money for breast cancer research and community programs for Susan G. Komen. I continue to commit to this cause for the simple fact that it impacts so many.
