Walked EVERY soaking wet mile in 2010!
|
Back For Another Go!
Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days.
Last year was my first Susan G Komen walk - and I walked all sixty miles, including two of the three days when it was pouring rain. Not the "nuisance" kind of showers but the soaking, constant downpour that makes a weatherman VERY unpopular along the route. Undeterred, and knowing those trying to beat breast cancer go through far worse, I finished each day's walk and am counting on better weather this year.
When you make a donation, please remember that net proceeds from the 3-Day for the Cure are invested in breast cancer research and community programs.
(Off the record, while I encourage you to join my team [CBS8's Buddies For Life] I will once again also be headlining a "guys only" group of walkers. . .you'll find that team name in the Participant's Forum section. It's the same as last year. Oh yeah.)
Training And Event Forecast Updates
Just like last year, I'll be updating weather forecasts for the San Diego area both during the training season and for the event itself. What with last year's downpours, it seems like a safe bet to say our weather this year for the Event in November will be FANTASTIC!
You can check out my updates for weekend training walks in the Participant Forums (under San Diego, natch) - and my general weather updates are found on my Twitter account and on the http://CBS8.com website.
I look forward to seeing some old friends - and making new ones - and helping to make a difference in finding a cure for cancer in our lifetime.

Latest Blog Updates Right Up To The 3-Day
Last year, and this year, you'll find my blog updates online at http://www.cbs8.com. During the training season, I'll have the usual wry observations along with tips I learned from last year. BTW, I did the 24-week training last year and made it through the 3-Day (again, in the pouring rain) with no blisters. It was awesome.
I also had a GPS tracking device on me in November, so you could follow my progress each day during the 3-Day. San Diego has a great route for the Komen 3-Day, and if you can't join me and the rest of the thousands of participants I hope you will make a donation.
