Well I am back in the comfort of my own home and thoughts of this 3 Day journey continue to flood my mind. I almost miss the pink tents and the very tight knit community of 2,000 men and women that shared the journey with me. And the stories..met a woan this year that is living with stage 4 breast cencer and boy is she living large. We are making a difference and as she put it Friday our walking gave her more time with her husband and children. So WALK ON 3 DAY WALKERS to give everyone more time!

So after all the training walks (the ones in the freezing cold are but a distant memory), all the fund raising for research (THANKS can even express my gratitude) and all the anticipation...IT IS HERE!
What we are all preparing for 60 miles, every step making a difference in the fight against Breast Cancer.
I will visualize those cold training walks to help beat the heat and I will walk..Proud to be a part of something bigger than myself.
To Debbie DL, Debbie MW, Inez and Ruth Ann you inspire me. Breathe your fighting spirits into my my Soles (Soul) and keep me putting one foot in front of the other until I am closing ceremonies.

On this Memorial Day I remember all those that fought for our freedom and all those who fought or fight to be free from Breast Cancer. The walk is fast approaching and the sneakers are feeling great as are the feet and legs. It is a privilege to be able to walk 60 miles to Stand Up to Breast Cancer. Every Staep does make a Difference.
Happy Memorial Day!

The new sneakers are in and starting to be broken in. Let's hope the weather keeps improving. If you are in teh neighborhood stop by Prospect Street in Cromwell on april 29 for a Tag Sale to benefit the Connecticut Pink Warriors. You might find a treasure or two and the money raised will help all those fighting Breast Cancer. That is what I call a WIN WIN.

The temperature reads 32 degrees but the windchill felt like 10 degrees as we walked through the street of Cromwell. I was frozen at the end of the walk but the legs felt good.

Proud to be a part of this amazing team representing the state where I was born and raised. Proud to be a part of this amazing event. Some days I wonder if when all is said and done I will have made a difference. Will the world be better becase I walked through it. Being part of the 3 Day I know the answer to that is YES.

I started this journey with one step and one person in mind, my sister. But over the years I have heard so many stories and met so many women warriors who are fighting and surviving and those who fight but the cancer is just too far along. So this year I walk for Debbie, Debbie, Nancy, Beth's Mom, Ellen, Becky, Sheryl, Rosemarie, Vicky, Nancy, Tricia, Carrie and for those who fight and for all the children, our daughters and nieces so they will never have to worry about breast cancer.

Today was the first training walk. 6 miles and my muscles are sore tonight. But I am also exhilarated because the journey to the 3 Day has begun. Every step makes a difference and I am happy to play a small part...sore muscles and all.

In a few hours I will turn 53. A week ago my sister would have turned 55. Breast Cnacer takes too many lives too early. But this 3 Day brings Hope and Light and Research that one day we will live in a world without Breast Cancer.
Today the perfect birthday gift would be a donation so that the future will be brighter for the next generation.
