JOIN ME IN THE FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER
Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds from the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™ are invested in breast cancer research and community programs
WHY I WALK 60 MILES?
I walk 60 miles over the course of 3 days to end breast cancer and so we and our future generations could live in a world without breast cancer. My son will be 7 years old in August and he speaks and thinks about cancer more than any child should. He worries that I am going to get cancer and that his future wife will get cancer. My mom is a 7 year cancer surivivor. She was diagnosed when I was pregnant and I think it was the birth of my child that made her fight harder to beat this disease. I know that a cure is out there and we will find it in my lifetime because our children should not live in a world with breast cancer.
The 3-day is about raising funds for research but it is also about awareness. Thousands of participants walk 60 miles in 3-day in several cities. We are definitely getting noticed!!! We walk through neighborhoods, commercial locations and even under highways. It is so important for everyone to be aware of breast cancer.
My personal commitment
I have walked in this event previously and it is by far, one of the most life-changing experiences of my life. I have met the most amazing people. I met a girl in her 20s that was a 2 time surivivor and her pregnant best friend flew in from Florida to walk by her side. This year, my mom will be participating with us and I couldn't be prouder. Please support me in this event. I have a goal to raise $2,300. For every person that supports me, you will always have a special place in my heart. Please let me know if there is a personal connection to breast cancer and I will keep that close to my heart during the walk. If you are interested in learning, more about the event, please let me know!
