Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds from the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™ are invested in breast cancer research and community programs.

Why am I doing this ?

“Are you sitting down?” Was the question she asked me that Friday in November. My mind starts racing and I think..No!! This can’t be happening! That was the day that my sister in law told me she had breast cancer. That day over a year ago seems like yesterday to me.
Over the last year the family has been through the worst; decisions to make, 3 surgeries to recover from, ongoing chemo treatments, being a giant pin cushion, and all the while still worrying about her 10 year old daughter who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last year and still struggling every day to deal with it. (They say that God doesn’t give more than you can handle.)
Patty had always taken care of me; she is my rock, my cheerleader, my butt kicker and my best friend. Now its my turn to take on that roll for her. I have done my best to be by her side through all of this. When she decided that she wanted to do the Susan G Komen 3-Day walk July 23-25, 2010, it was a no-brainer… I would walk by her side.
This will be the toughest physical challenge I have ever done but I am so confident that I will not only finish the 60 miles but I will walk away from this a stronger person. I will walk for my mother-in-law who never got to see her beautiful grandchildren, I will walk along side my sister-in-law and good friend Sherri who have been through hell and back, I will walk for my friend Maurine who is battling for her life, I will walk for my nieces who I hope never have to go through what their mom did, and I will walk for myself because let’s face it, no one is exempt.
So now you want to know what do I want from you? Well besides your thoughts and prayers for my sister-in-law, I am looking for donations. In order to walk in July, I have to raise $2,300. Every penny makes a difference. I know that you get bombarded with requests for donations and in this economy you have to choose what causes are important to you.
