Join us on an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days.

We are green chemists. No, we do not wear green make-up (unless it's eye shadow and happens to color-coordinate with a killer outfit). But yes we are chemists.

What is a GREEN chemist?

Green chemists are scientists who develop sustainable products and processes. We aim to create materials that are safe and economical that perform well. In making these fabulous products/processes, we avoid dangerous chemicals and we prevent the generation of hazardous materials.

Essentially, we are preventing pollution at the onset of development, rather than as an afterthought.

Everyday at work, we change the way the world makes things, uses things and thinks about things. Through chemistry, we are trying to change the world. We provide society with new technologies that won't be detrimental to our health or the environment. We dream of improving quality of life for all through the creation of affordable, accessible, efficient and valuable materials and technologies.

We also dream of saving lives.

While we are in the lab every day doing research on a variety of topics, our projects do not currently include breast cancer research. Since we don't currently fight breast cancer through our research, and since we very much want to help win this battle, we've decided that what we CAN do is join the millions of people who are hitting the streets and walking 60 miles in 3 days - all in the name of finding a cure for breast cancer.

We are chemists, green chemists, and we are doing everything we can to contribute.
