Team Pink Peace

In August of this year, I will be walking the 3-Day in Chicago with my mother and my sisters...along with several other special friends! As we all know, breast cancer has affected many of us in many ways. Chances are, we all know someone who is battling at this very moment! Our mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend.....

Let me tell you why I have chosen to walk. In 2002, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Ugly word, huh? Cancer....a word NONE of us ever wants to hear. It is scary, it isnt fair, it is a death sentence. In our case, it wasnt that at all ! I remember driving to my mom's house after finding out. I was a MESS. My mother opened the door and just smiled at me. No tears, no anger, no visible sign of anything "bad". I still remember the words she said to me...." God was not suprised. He didnt sit in that room with me and gasp when he heard the news" The next few months were a whirlwind of emotion...for the family, that is...not for my mom. She knew that God had a purpose for this and He was going to use this "ugly cancer" in a beautiful way. Praise the Lord, my mom is a survivor !!

God did have everything planned! I was able to leave my job and stay with my mom everyday while she was going through chemo...she never complained. I slept on the cold concrete floor of the hospital because I refused to leave her side. But she didnt need me...she knew where her strength came from. She is the strongest person I have ever met!!

Much of my support came from my "Dance Family". Many of the moms and the girls I taught became instant family. We were flooded with phone calls, lifted up in prayer, and all the love and hugs a girl could ask for.

What I need from you is support! I have commited to raising 2300.00. I am asking if you would support myself and my team financially. Every single dollar counts to save our grandmothers, mother, daughters and friends!
