From a Repeat Walker, version 1
Last year I began an amazing journey. My destination? Finding a cure for breast cancer. My donors were in my thoughts every step of my life-changing 60 mile adventure, and the experience was so extraordinary that I am determined to do it again! This year I will be walking in the Susan G. Komen [event city] 3-Day, [event date], joining thousands of men and women committed to this battle against a despicable enemy – breast cancer.
You have been there for me with your donations and support, and I am asking you to donate again because the battle continues. Every 74 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone dies from breast cancer – a sobering statistic and one that I believe we can reduce.
I am sure each and every one of you knows someone whose life has been affected by cancer. The best way we can make a difference is to raise awareness – with thousands of Komen 3-Day walkers nationwide bring attention to this cause - and to provide the monetary support necessary for research, education and treatment. That’s why I am reaching out to you again. My goal this year is to not only meet my $2300 fundraising requirement, but to exceed it! Your donation benefits Susan G. Komen®, the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. Consider this your annual donation that is making a real difference and saving lives!
You can donate at The3Day.org, or follow the link below to make an online donation in an amount that works for you. You can also call 800-996-3DAY, or donate by check, made payable to Susan G. Komen 3-Day; mail your donation checks to me [insert address] and I will submit them with a copy of my personalized donation form. You can spread your credit card donation over four monthly payments, and your company may even offer to match your donation through their Matching Gifts program. No donation is too big – or too small.
This year I will dedicate my 60 miles to all of my friends and family who are survivors – thankfully the list is long! I will also say a prayer for those loved ones who have lost their battle with breast cancer – and I will not end my journey until I reach my destination – a world without breast cancer.
With sincere gratitude for your continued support,
