All-Crew Kick-Off
Thursday, November 6

All crew members must join us for an exciting and inspirational All-Crew Kick-Off on Thursday, November 20 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

New for 2014! Formerly known as the All-Crew Meeting, the All-Crew Kick-Off will be less like a meeting and more of a celebratory rally to launch our 3-Day® journey. It will take less of your time than in years past and hopefully be a lot more fun!

The All-Crew Kick-Off is your chance to reunite with crew friends from past events and meet the newest members of our crew community. We’ll have games, music and other activities to build camaraderie and the 3-Day spirit. You can also learn how to set up event tents and canopies, use a walkie-talkie and maybe even drive a big truck. You will receive your crew t-shirts and get the chance to have your photo taken with your team. Attendance at the All-Crew Kick-Off is required for all crew members.

The All-Crew Kick-Off will last approximately 2 hours, from 4-6 p.m. Select crew teams will need to arrive earlier on Thursday to begin their crew responsibilities or help with set-up and check-in for the All-Crew Kick-Off. Please contact your Crew Captain to confirm your scheduled arrival time before finalizing your travel plans. Please note that there will be no shuttles on Thursday from the All-Crew Kick-Off to the host hotel. If you are in need of a ride, please contact your fellow crew members. Parking will be available.

Host Hotels
The 3-Day has a group room block at local hotels for 3-Day participants*, which will include shuttle transportation from the hotel to the 3-Day event. All hotel reservations must be booked by November 6th through the link below.

Some hotels may have parking fees in addition to the room fee. Please read the hotel description on the reservation site to see if there are any parking fees. If you have difficulty making a reservation through the link above, please contact 3dayhotels@travelcts.com. All other 3-Day questions should be directed to the 3-Day coaches.

Thursday night hotel reservations include shuttle service to the Opening Ceremony on Friday morning. Friday and Saturday night hotel reservations include shuttle service to camp on Saturday and Sunday morning. Sunday night hotel reservations include shuttle service from the Closing Ceremony to the hotel on Sunday afternoon. Sunday shuttle tickets must be picked up in the Main Street area of camp on Friday, between 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

An important note about shuttle service: If you stay at another hotel or your room is not booked through the link above, you will not receive shuttle service and are not guaranteed weekend parking at the hotel. Shuttle service from the Closing Ceremony to the host hotels will be available for a $20 charge, for those who do not have a Sunday night host hotel reservation. Personal vehicles are not allowed at any 3-Day site.

*All crew members are required to stay at the 3-Day camp on Friday and Saturday night, so Friday and Saturday night hotel reservations are available for walkers and Young Women Walking only.

Long-Term Parking
Long-term parking is available in the auxiliary east lot across from the Del Mar Fairgrounds off of Jimmy Durante Blvd. for a $30 fee, payable upon entrance. The lot is located on the left, just past Turf Road and the Hilton San Diego/Del Mar. Follow event signage for exact parking location upon entering the lot. Long-term parking is limited, and is on a first-come/first-served basis.

Tickets for a shuttle bus from the Closing Ceremony to the long-term parking lot can be purchased for $25 per person in the Main Street area of camp on Friday, between 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. only.

While reasonable efforts are made to provide security for long-term parking, the participant agrees and acknowledges that any and all loss associated with such parking shall be at his/her own risk and ultimately his/her own full responsibility.

Opening Ceremony
Friday, November 21

Schedule for the Day:
4:30 a.m. - Crew members should arrive.
5:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. - Walkers should arrive.
6:30 a.m. - Opening Ceremony begins with community stretching.

Spectator parking will be available in the Main Lot. Enter through the Main gate on Jimmy Durante Blvd. 

Saturday Route Information for Young Women Walking
Meet at the Young Women Walking tent in the 3-Day camp at Crown Point Shores (3700 Crown Point Drive, San Diego, CA 92109) at 6:00 a.m. There you will check in and get your special YW2 gifts. After checking in at the Young Women Walking tent, enjoy a hot breakfast in the dining tent. 

If you are staying at a host hotel under the 3-Day rate, you can take the 3-Day shuttle to the start of the route on Saturday morning, and back to the hotel on Saturday night. If you are not staying at a host hotel, enter camp off of Crown Point Dr. onto Corona Oriente. Pass Moorland Dr. (main exit) and follow to the Command Center parking lot just adjacent to the dining tent.

After the route closes on Saturday, you are invited to stay at the 3-Day camp to enjoy dinner, a dance party, a special “pink party” reception in the Young Women Walking tent, and other fun activities. The festivities will wrap up at 9:00 p.m., when it’s lights out at camp.

Your friends, family and supporters should arrive at the Closing Ceremony site at least one hour early to secure a space by the stage that will give them the best view of the program. Please let your supporters know to allow extra time for travel and parking.

All walkers and crew members are encouraged to remain in the Participant Finish Area where you will receive your victory shirt, cheer on fellow walkers and crew members and reflect on your experience together before the dramatic victory walk into the Closing Ceremony. The Participant Finish Area is closed to spectators. If you wish to meet with friends and family before the Ceremony begins, please exit the Participant Finish Area and join them near the Closing Ceremony location. Just remember to return to the Participant Finish Area no later than 4:00 p.m. to join the victory walk.
