Welcome to the Breast Cancer 3-Day

Getting Started Is Easy

The first step is to sign up for the Breast Cancer 3-Day and pay the one-time registration fee. Right now, $90 might feel like a big commitment, but think of what you’ll be saving. You’ll be spending a little for the opportunity to change the lives of millions in your community and around the world. And finding the registration fee is easy if you know where to look:

1. Make it a Gift

When someone asks what you want for your next birthday or anniversary, request they chip in toward your registration fee. It’s a gift that fits perfectly and one you’ll never forget.

2. Try Priceless Not Pricey Activities
Instead of hiring a babysitter and going out for dinner and a movie, find free activities you can do at home or around town. Play a card game, take a hike or visit a museum on free admission day. You’ll increase your savings and the quality of time spent with family and friends.

3. Break a Habit
If you typically eat out or drink super-size cappuccinos daily, try packing a lunch, cooking at home or switching to regular coffee for a few weeks. It’s a great way to save money and get healthier for your upcoming Breast Cancer 3-Day walk.

Just a few simple changes can add up quickly and get you closer to the next step in your journey to the Breast Cancer 3-Day.

Fundraising “The 3-Day Way”
Breast Cancer 3-Day walkers raise over $3,000 each, on average. That might seem like a lot. But they usually reach that goal with 25 donors or less. Once you get started, you’ll be surprised by how generously people will support you. Because you’re doing something big (60 miles! 3 days!) people want to give big.

Fundraising “The 3-Day Way” is a method, and a mindset, that has worked for thousands of walkers. We teach you how to “ask big” in a way that makes fundraising easier than you ever thought it could be.

  1. Write an email or letter campaign. We provide sample fundraising appeals that will help you craft that perfect message in 10 minutes or less. Emails you send through our website automatically contain a link back to your personal webpage. Many walkers reach their fundraising goals just by sending emails to everyone in their address book.
  2. Plan a fundraising party. A simple night in with drinks and snacks can turn into a fundraising success, with the help of our Inspiration DVD that you can show to your guests. There won’t be a dry eye in the house.
  3. Get creative. Yard sales, car washes, bake sales - we’ve seen it all! Team “Tutus for Tatas” brought in $20,000 last year with a golf tournament and $25,000 with a fashion show and luncheon.
  4. Team up. There is strength in numbers, especially when it comes to fundraising. Form or a join a team and you’ll have plenty of support to organize fundraising events or ask for corporate donations.
  5. Your personal fundraising webpage will help you tell your story. Customize it with a photo and your story to increase the impact. With a few clicks, your donors can give online directly to your fundraising account.
  6. Seek support. The Breast Cancer 3-Day community opens its arms to new walkers. Our online message boards and fundraising ideas library provide a venue to share successes and get new ideas.

All of these methods are explored in depth at every Get Started Meeting. Find a Get Started Meeting near you.

The Breast Cancer 3-Day coaches are available by phone (800.996.3DAY) or email (coaches@the3day.org) to help brainstorm new ways to fundraise. We’ve helped thousands of walkers reach their goal and we want to help you, too!

Registering for the Breast Cancer 3-Day could be the best gift you give yourself all year.
