Three Southern Belles Walking for Breast Cancer Research
Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer! The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.
As most of you know…my precious mother, Lulu is a STRONG 29 year SURVIVOR of Breast Cancer. Mother found the lump in her breast and was scheduled for surgery not really knowing what the outcome would be. Mother had a rough battle, but came out on top! Mother was so very, very blessed!
Through her living we have all experienced her strength and resilience. Life is so precious and I know too many friends and family members who have lost a loved one to this horrible disease.
Along with my darling daughter, Katie, we are walking 60 miles in October for my mother, Louise Larson; my neighbor, Nan Farmer; my friend, Kelly Lange...all strong survivors and for my mother in law, Myrtice Gorum and my dear friend, Chris Bacon's beautiful daughter, Megan Kennedy who fought a long, hard battle.
I am also walking to help ensure the health of my sister, Leah, my daughter, Katie and my wonderful nieces, Lulu and Beverley.
Our goal is to help put an end to this offensive disease. Now, those who know me well , know that I just had knee replacement surgery, my thinking being, that I would be fine to walk those 60 miles in October. Well, if wishes was fishes, I WOULD walk those 60 miles! But, realistically I now know I cannot. So, that said, I will do MY BEST to walk as far as can for as long as I can!!!
